                    About Costa Rica

Costa Rica - Still a Paradise!

It is 6 a.m. and you hear scratching at the window. You wake up to the neighborhood troop of cara blanca, capuchin monkeys peering in as if to say, “Good morning – lets go surfing!” The local point break is visible from your second floor balcony, and the sun glints on the face of a perfect 8’ face wrapping around the craggy point you call your “home break”.  A quick “smoothie” made from one or more of the many varieties of fruit that thrive, without any assistance, on your property, and a cup of the incredible, award winning, locally grown coffee, and you’re ready for a memorable morning session.

It’s a short, but entrancing, walk to the beach. There is always a possibility of an encounter with one of the real “locals”, the rainforest resident animals. The Cara Blanca monkeys are almost always present and the Congo monkeys are howling messages back and forth to each other, sounding like King Kong despite their actually modest size. The loudest sound in the rainforest comes from the Toucans, and they fill the air with their communication with each other.  You wave to one of the local three-toed sloths perched atop a tall tree and watch a multitude of forest reptiles scurrying about every which way. It is truly a tropical paradise! It’s a five-minute walk to the beach

As you sit in the lineup trying to absorb the awe-inspiring splendor of the mountains and rainforest that collide with the ocean, it is difficult to imagine being anywhere else.  To wake up to this idyllic, almost dreamlike existence each and every morning is like being reborn every day!

This is Costa Rica, at one of the many still ”secret spots” to surf where the people are friendly, the government is stable, international business is flourishing, and property holds its value. It is a mecca for environmental awareness and progress, where virtually all of it's energy is produced cleanly and is on it's way to a Carbon-Zero environment. It is a place where you can surf in the morning and spend the day working, via the net, from a balcony with a breathtaking view, and end your day with a killer afternoon session.  This is Costa Rica, a surfer's dream filled with incredible beach breaks, rockin’ point breaks, reef breaks, long lines, and hollow barrels! This is Costa Rica, where "Birders" from all over the world come to gaze in awe at the insane number of our avian friends! This is Costa Rica, where one can wake up to the splender of an Atlantic/Caribbean sunrise and take in the beauty of a Pacific sunset in the afternoon! This is Costa Rica, still a paradise!
