                       Playa Bejuco

Playa Bejuco is a dark sand beach about a mile or two east of Esterillos Este. There is a rivermouth on the east end that contributes to building the Bejuco sandbars causing it to break hollower and harder than other area beaches. Because of its semi-remoteness, it is never crowded and produces great barrels.

Best with a south/southwest swell at mid to high tide.

Note: There are no lifeguards and very strong rips.

                 Isla Damas/Boca Damas

Follow Rt 34 down past Parrita, before Quepos, you can find Isla Damas. This break is accessible only by boat so that usually would mean from Parrita or from Quepos. When the swell is overhead it can break a long way, up to 300 m. There is, however a strong rip that pulls to the ocean and this break is known to have sharks. With all the quality breaks in the Central Costa Rica area, Isla Damas would not be our first choice to surf, but there is always room for adventure.
