Punta Dominical
Punta DominicalPunta Dominical is a point break about 3 km south of Dominical. It breaks best with large swells from the south/southwest. It breaks over a shallow rock ledge and had an "indicator" rock. That is your usual takeoff point. The Point can handle waves up to triple overhead and gives up big, lined up walls that will break for 300+ meters. There basically no barrels but incredible huge walls to carve. Punta Dominical breaks over a shallow rock ledge and is best at low to mid tides. It tends to get mushy at high tide.
With a big north/northwest swell Punta Dominical will also produce a really fun right wave. Takeoff point is just off the big rock at the end of the shelf. The Point needs a headhigh or better to work. It can be flat when Playa Dominical is overhead. Magic Seaweed Surf Report at: magicseaweed.com/Punta-Dominical-Surf-Report/3348/ |
