  The Original Canopy Tour
                         www.canopytour.com
In the Monteverde Cloud Forest, The Original Canopy claims to be the first canopy tour of its kind, and the first canopy tour in Costa Rica. The original Canopy Tour has been operating since 1992 and touts an impeccable safety record. The tour is a zip line through a primary and secondary forest and ends with a rappel down to the ground from the "scary tree". The owners original goal was to provide visitors a memorable, exciting experience in the cloud forest while promoting  education of conservation and the need for reforestation. The Original Canopy Tour is located on a private reserve just a short distance from downtown Santa Elena, up the hill behind the Hotel Sapo Dorado.
Other Original Canopy Tour locations are in San Jose at Mahogany Park,
